Common Name The Solomon Islands Eurycentrum

Found in the Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Island and Vanuatu in rainforest to montane moss forests at elevations of sea level to 1150 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a fleshy, erect stem carrying 4 to 7, scattered, obliquely ovate, acute, satiny and almost black to very dark green to purple with a central pink vein above, purple beneath, sometimes undulate margin leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 7.2 to 9.2" [18 to 23 cm] long, laxly many flowered, pubescent, slender, pink inflorescence with lanceolate, setose bracts and carrying the flowers all on one side.
