Found in south Yunnan province of China in montane forests on tree trunks at elevations around 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with pendulous to nearly ascending, golden yellow, often branching stems with golden yellow, fusiform, slightly compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly ovate-lanceolate, leathery, acuminate to slightly emarginate leaf that blooms in the late spring on a terminal, very short, single flowered inflorescence carrying a short lived flower
