Common Name Joris' Galeottia

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Venezuela in tall forests, dwarf forests, forested slopes and on sandstone substrate on tepuis at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte with clustered, ovoid pseudobulbs subtended by several non-foliaceous sheaths and having 2, apical, elliptical, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, erect, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, 2 flowered inflorescence arising from a newly arising to newly matured pseudobulb and having rigid, lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
