Common Name The Confused Gastrodia - In China Da Dai Tian Ma

Found in Japan, Korea, Ryukyu Islands, and Taiwan in bamboo forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial without leaves and a brown, obconic to fusiform, 5 to 8 noded rhizome with 8 to 10 scales at each node that blooms in the fall on a pale brown, to 5.2" [13 cm] long, densely 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence with several sheaths and ovate, acute floral bracts and carrying suberect to nodding resupinate flowers
