Common Name or Meaning The Putao Gastrodia [A district of Kachin state of Myanmar]

Found in Myanmar in montane evergreen broadleaf forests at elevations around 2200 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial without leaves and has a short, horizontal, greyish black rhizome giving rise to an erect, provided with 2 to 3, glabrous, stem that blooms in the late spring on an erect, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with short, ovate, membraneous, much shorter thant he ovary floral bracts and carrying pendent, more or less campanulate flowers.
"A species similar to G. dyeriana, but differing by having greyish white flowers with the lip narrowly triangular and subdivided into two parts with the apical part near tip densely covered with yellow hairs, and the lip apex obtuse and densely covered with red papillae."
