Found in Taiwan in montane primary coniferous forests and mixed forests on mossy and lichen rich trunks and branches of trees. at elevations of 2000 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a prostrate below, ascending towards the apex, leafy stem carrying alternate, oblong to lanceolate, coriaceous, deep green, some tinted with purple, spotted with dark brown purple on both sides, lustrous leaves that blooms in the late fall and earlier winter on an axillary, in the terminal part of the stem, pendulous, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence.
