Found in China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam on rocky substrates near rivers and grasslands at elevations of 100 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with tuberous, globose to ovoid, densely clustered pseudobulbs usually partially enveloped by fibrous sheaths and carrying 2 to 3, not fully developed at blooming, broadly ovate-elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a shorter than or equal to the leaves, peduncle erect, 2.4 to 5.2" [6 to 13 cm] long, rachis pendulous, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, densely more than 10 flowered inflorescence with sweetly scented flowers that do not open fully.
