Vermuellen explains that any three of these can make a species eligible but if they exhibit 4 they are in the solid core of the section characterized by the very dense racemose inflorescence, usually holding the flowers in a regular pattern, lateral sepals with the upper margins recurved, together forming a saucer-like structure around the lip, petals not truely ciliate, and the column with distinct teeth along the lower and upper margins
