Found in penninsular Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Sumatra, western Java and Maluku (Ambon) at elevations around 200 to 1000 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial orchid that has a very non-orchidaceous look with a more woody, many leafed stem carrying many, narrowly lanceolate, unequally bilobed apically leaves and blooms with a sessile, head-like inflorescence surrounded by a circle of ovate, transparent white floral bracts with many small flowers
