Flower Size

Found in Boyacá, Cesar, Cundinamarca, Magdalena, Nariño, Norte de Santander and Quindio departments of Colombia in forests at elevations around 1050 to 3410 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with basal, oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acute to subacute, tapering towards the base leaves that blooms in the winter and fall on a terminal, erect, with several glabrous below, glandular above bracts, to 40" [100 cm] long, rachis to 6" [15 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, pubescent floral bracts and carrying flowers that are externally pubescent especially near the base.
