Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 1200 to 4000 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with a fasciculate, fleshy, shortly lanose stem carrying 3 to 5, erect-patent, lanceolate to elliptic, acuminate, glabrous, gradually narrowing into the narrow petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, shortly brown hairy, 5.6 to 7.2" [14 to 18 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, oblong-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
