Found in Brazil in Atlantic rain forests at elevations of 500 to 600 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with clustered, conic, laterally sulcate, ancipitous pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, plicate, three veined, wide lanceolate, smooth, petiolate below leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, pendant, laterally compressed, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, several [7 to 12] flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with fragrant flowers.
