Common Name The Leafy Goodyera - In China Duo Ye Ban Ye Lan

Flower Size .6" [1.4 cm]

Found in western Himalayas, eastern Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Japan, Ryukyu Islands, Korea and Taiwan at elevations of 400 to 2700 meters in dense, wet montane or subalpine forests as a small sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with a long creeping stem like rhizome giving rise to an erect, leafy stem carrying obliquely ovate to elliptic-ovate, acute to obtuse, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal, to 3.8" [to 9 cm] long, densely several flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acuminate, convex, exceeding the ovary and often the flower floral bracts.

Similar to G schlechtendaliana but differs in having floral bracts that are longer than the flowers. The plant in the first photo was sent in as Goodyera foliosa var. laevis Finet 1900
