Common Name The Bottle-Shaped Govenia [refers to the basally swollen stem]
Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]
Found in southern Mexico and El Salvador in wet cloud forests at elevations of 1800 to 2550 meters as a small to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with thick pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, somewhat developed at blooming, mature leaves much longer tha the inflorescence, thin, green, acute leavesthat blooms in the spring through fall on a terminal, peduncle purple, terete,erect, to 18" [45 cm] long, rachis to 10" [25 cm] long, 25 flowered inflorescence.
