Found in southern Vietnam near Hon Ba mountain at elevations up to 1200 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with lanceolate, acuminate leaves grading to bracts above that blooms on a terminal, erect, 2.4" [6 cm] long, densely several to 12flowered infloresence with acuminate, .4 to .48" long [10 to 12 mm] floral bracts
"Apart from H recurva I know of no other Habenaria species that so completely lacks petals. I suppose they are fused to the dorsal sepal which has an abnormal width and a very pronounced hooded shape." Gagnepain 1931
This species is either quite rare or is a questionable species as it is known only from the type collection in 1931.
