Common Name Bauerlen's Habenaria

Flower Size

Found in New Guinea and New Ireland in rainforest and in forest and cliffs in the rivers valleys, found also in pine forest. at elevations around 10 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, basally leafy stem carrying several, erect-patent, oblanceolate, acute leaves grading above to 3, lanceolate to ovate, acute, sterile bracts that blooms in the winter and again in the summer on an erect, terminal, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, laxly many-flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate., shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying s white flowers or white flowers with greenish sepals and pure white petals and lip.
