Found in Cameroon in damp thickets near rivers as a small sized terrestrial with an erect, stout stem carrying 3 to 4, gathered in a basal rosette, obliquely ovate, acute, canaliculate and petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, to 4" [10 cm] long, densely 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts
