Found in Zaire, Angola and Zambia in damp marshy places at elevations of 1250 to 1800 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with globose to ovoid tubers giving rise to an erect, rather stout, glabrous, leafy stem carrying 7 to 9, linear-lanceolate, acute, slightly deflexed from the stem, decreasing in size up the stem leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a terminal, erect, 4.4 to 9.2" [11 to 23 cm] long, fairly densely many flowered inflorescence with glabrous, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying pale green flowers.

"The species is easily distinguishable from other of the genus by very characteristic spur with globose apex."
