Found in the Philippines on dry hilltops and open areas near sea level to 88 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing growing terrestrial withtubers giving rise to a graceful, erect stem carrying linear, grass-like, acute, grading to bracts above leaves that blooms in the later fall and winter on a dense, cylindrical to spicate, congested, many flowered inflorescence carrying white flowers

Similar to H rumphii but this one differs in the thin, graceful, erect stem carrying linear, grasslike leaves.
