Common Name The Knife-Shaped Leaf Habenaria

Found in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Yemen and Oman in grasslands near permanent water or in shade of bushes amongst rocks at elevations of 1700 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect, slender, leafy throughout stem carrying 5 to 9, the middlemost, narrowly elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, the lowermost smaller and bract-like, uppermost decreasing smaller leaves that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, 4 to 6.4" [10 to 16 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate to oblanceolate, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts and sometimes carrying cleistogamous flowers.
