Found in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Yemen in grasslands and open bushlands at elevations of 1100 to 2200 meters as a small to just large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect, leafy throughout stem carrying lanceolate, the uppermost decreasing smaller bract-like leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an erect, 7.2" [to 18 cm] long, densely few to many flowered inflorescence with elliptic-lanceolate mostly longer than the ovaries floral bracts and carrying sweetly scented flowers.

CAUTION I am not sure of this determination, Does not conform with Cribb's photo of 2004.
