Found in central and southeastern Madagascar in mossy forests at elevations of 1200 to 2400 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 4 to 5, broadly elliptic leaves that blooms in the late spring, summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, 5.2" [13 cm] long, narrowly cylindrical, many flowered inflorescence with spreading, lanceoalte, acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts .
