Found in Myanmar and Laos at elevations around 600 to 700 meters as a warm growing terrestrial with 3 to 8 glabrous, lanceolate-elliptic leaves scattered in the lower half that blooms on an erect, lax to semidense, few flowered inflorescence.

There are 3 species considered to be very similar and refered to as the H hosseusii group, H hosseusii from Thailand, H dentirostrata from Laos and Myanmar and H mandersii occuring from Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
