Found as a medium to giant sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid in Minas Gerais Brazil at elevations of 1000 to 1700 meters with a cylindric, occasionally branching stem envelopd by many leaf sheath bases carrying all along the stem, oblong-lanceolate, green, acute leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a terminal, erect, 12" [30 cm] long, many [40] flowered inflorescence
