Found in central Madagascar in shady woods and forests as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with oval tubers giving rise to an erect, leafy stem 5 to 6, narrow obovate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, loose to dense several to many flowered inflorescence with narrow lanceolate floral bracts.
