Found in Congo in savannas at elevations around 1375 to 1490 metrrs as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with ovoid to ellipsoid, wooly tubers giving rise to 5 to 10, lowermost spreading, ovate, the next few suberect, lanceolate, acute, the uppermosst grading to bracts leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, terminal, 3.2 to 5.6" [8 to 13 cm] long, laxly 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, half as long as the ovary floral bracts.
Closest to H tentaculigera and H goetzeana but H geerinckiana has a more or less straight to gently recurved spur.
