Common Name The Giri Habenaria [An area of east Java]

Found in east Java and the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia most likely in lowlands as a small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with 9 to 10 leaves, widely spaced along the erect stem, elliptic-oblong, shortly acuminate leaves taht blooms on an erect, rachis 3.6 to 5.2" [9 to 13 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence

"Similar to H bantamensis but H giriensis is distinguished by the shape of the upper sepal which is almost as wide as long and by the club shaped spur.

This species was found in an area of eastern Java known as Gresik and Giri was a division of that are, that has been completely developed to obtain the limestone for the nearby cement plant and was considered critically endangered in 1990 and to my knowledge has not been found since.
