Found in Rio Grande Do Sul state of Brazil and northern Argentina as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a short, thin, somewhat sinuous stem carrying a few, ovate-lanceolate, acute to slighyl acuminate, carinate dorsally, amplexicaul basally leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, erect, shortly cylindrical, to 2.4" [to 6 cm] long, amny flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, long-acuminate, somewhat furfuraceous floral bracts .
