Common Name The Membraneous Leaved Habenaria - In Australia The Coastal Rein Orchid
Flower Size .8 to .96" [2 to 2.4 cm]
Found in northern tropical Queensland in monsoonal rainforests often near the coast at elevations of sealevel to 200 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with oblong tubers gving rise to an erect, elongate, strict to substrict stem carrying 6 to 8, erect-patent, scattered along the stem, bluish green, elliptic,acute to apiculate, glabrous, thin textured, 3 veined leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on an erect, 10 to 16" [25 to 40 cm] long, 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence .
Similar to H digitata but distinguished by the very thin leaves and bracts as well as the differntly shaped flower parts.
