This is a medium to giant sized, cool to warm growing terrestrial orchid found in Mantiqueira Rain Forest Mountains on dryer forests floor at elevations of 800 to 1500 meters with a succulent, erect, leafy stem carrying alternate, deep green, suffused with silver, lanceolate, keeled, gradually decreasing in size towards the apex leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, cone-like, erect, to 20 flowered inflorescence.
