Found in Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia and Angola in seasonally flooded grasslands at elevations of 90 to 200 and 2400? meters as a small to large sized, hot to cold growing terrestrial with an erect, slender to rather stout, leafy throughout stem carrying 7 to 13, spreading, linear to narrowly lanceolate, grading smaller towards the apex leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, 1.6 to 14.8" [4 to 37 cm] long, lax to dense, many flowered inflorescence
