Common Name Leanderi's Habenaria [French Botanist 1800's]
Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm]
Found in northern and southwestern Madagascar in seasonally dry deciduous forests, woodlands or scrub at elevations of sea level to 500 meters as a small to medum sized, hot growing terrestrial with 2 tubers giving rise to 4 to 7, oblong to oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the late summer at the end of the rainy season, on an erect, 4.8 to 6" [12 to 15 cm] long, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
