Common Name Madero's Habenaria [Colombia orchid collector 1800's]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela in paramo on steep rocky slopes at elevations of 2200 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect strem carrying 7 to 8 , linaer-ligulate to narrowly lanceolate, acute, gradually decreasing in size above leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, terminal, 2.4 to 8" [6 to 20 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small flowers.
