Found in Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia in mixed deciduous and evergreen forests as well as bamboo thickets at elevations of 100 to 375 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem carrying 3 to 8, cauline, elliptic-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, mucronate leaves grading above into 3 to 6, spreading to erect, lanceolate, acuminate, margins sometimes minutely denticulate, sterile bracts that blooms in the late summer and fall on an erect, [23 to 52 cm] long, lax, 7 to 25 flowered inflorescence with a 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long rachis carrying lanceolate, acuminate, margins sometimes minutely denticulate floral bracts.
