Found in Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya in open glades of forests at elevations of 2350 to 3000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, slender to rather stout stem carrying 7 to 12, mostly lanceolate-linear, grading smaller and adpressed to the stem above leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, 10 to 35 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bracts
