Common Name The Mustached Habenaria

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Bahia and Minas Gerais states of Brazil as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped by linear, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on a terminal, erect, 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with leaf-like, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white and green flowers.

"Habenaria mystacina is a very distinct species, characterized by linear leaves, pressed to the stem in almost all its extension, short inflorescence, congested, small flowers (dorsal sepal .12 to .12" [3 to 4 mm] long.), with the anterior segments of the petals and lateral segments of the lip densely covered by trichomes.
