Common Name The Winged Fruit Habenaria

Flower Size 1.2 to 1.4" [3 to 3.5 cm] wide

Found in Sri Lanka in submontane tropical, wet, evergreen forests at elevations up to 220 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with clavate tubers giving rise to an erect, stout, leafy throughout stem carrying 5 or so, oblong to linear-lanceolate, decreasing in size up the stem, acute to acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect,peduncel with sterile bracts, 2.4" [6 cm] long, 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, finely acuminate, 1 veined floral bracts and carrying white flowers with a green spur.
