Found in Argentina and Chile as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial withan oblong tuber giving rise to an erect, short stem completely enveloped by 2 to 8, ovate-ensiform leaves that blooms on an erect, densely 10 to 12 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate half as long as the ovary floral bracts.
