Common Name The Rosy Habenaria - In China Chi Pian Po Shen - In Thailand Ya man pu

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in central Guizhou and Yunnan provinces of China, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam along rice paddies or in abandoned fields on grassy slopes, open areas of deciduous forests at elevations of sealevel to 1100 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with 2 to 4, cauline, scattered in the lower half of the stem, oblong-oblanceolate, acute, mucronate, basally clasping leaves grading to above 5 to 11, suberect, lanceolate, acuminate, shortly hairy margined sterile bracts that blooms in the late spring through early fall on an erect, terminal, 6.2 to 20" " [16 to 50 cm] long, 5 to 17 flowered inflorescence with a to 2" [5 cm] long rachis carrying lanceolate, acuminate, shortly hairy margined floral bracts.

This species and H rostrata are quite similar but H rostellifera differs mostly in the longer stelida that are abruptly upcurved, in H rostrata the stelida are shorter and straight.
