Common Name or Meaning The Tibetan Habenaria - In China Xi Zhang Yu Feng Hua

Found in southern Gansu, northeastern Qinghai, western Sichuan, southeastern Xizang and northwestern Yunnan provinces of China in forests, thickets and grasslands at elevations of 2300 to 4300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with subglobose, oblong to ellipsoid, fleshy tubers giving rise to an erect, terete, papillate-hairy stems carrying 2, basal, nearly opposite, spreading horizontally, ovate to orbicular, adaxially 5 to 7 white veined, acute to obtuse, obtuse rounded basally than abruptly narrowing into the amplexicaul base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, 1.6 to 4" [4 to 10 cm] long, racemose, papillate-hairy, loosely 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
