Common Name The Tradescantia-Like Peristylus

Found in New Guinea, the Bismark Archipelago, the Moluccas, the Solomon Islands, Queensland Australia, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu in scrub and forests at elevations around 250 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a terete, erect, towards the middle of the stem, bracts beneath, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on a , [9 to 14cm] long, laxly 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, as long as to shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are grass green.
