Common Name The Three Thread Habenaria

Flower Size .58" [1.4 cm]

Found in New Guinea and Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland Australia in open forests and woodlands and swamp margins at elevations of sea level to 600 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with 2 to 3 basal, usually erect leaves that blooms in the summer on a 12 to 20" [30 to 50 cm] long, 8 to 25 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, lanceolate-acuminate, much shorter than the ovary flopral bracts and carrying sweet, spicey scented flowers

Schlechter compared this species to H elongata but stated that it belonged to the SECTION Tridactylae.
