Found in central and eastern Madagascar in grasslands and rocky outcrops at elevations around 1200 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 2 to 8, ovate-lanceolate leaves grading into bracts above that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on a terminal, erect, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with as long as the flowers floral bracts and carrying green flowers with a yellow green lip
