Found in northern and northeastern Queensland Australia at elevations of sea level to 200 meters in moist to wet melaleuca woodlands and shrubby forests as a medium to large sized, hot growing terrestrial with a clavate-ovate tuber giving rise to 2 to 3 basal, erect, lanceolate, widely linear, channeled, grass-like leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an erect, 6 to 14" [15 to 35 cm] long, 8 to 20 flowered inflorescence
