Common Name The Beautiful Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 3.5" [8.5 cm]

Found in New Guinea in lower montane forests at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with oblong-cylindric pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong-ligulate, obtuse, minutely apiculate, narrowly subpetiolate leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 4 1/2" [12 cm] long inflorescence with an elliptic, subacute, keeled floral bract and carrying a single, large, showy flower.
