Found from Florida, Mexico, El Salvador, Cuba, Jamaica, Hispanola, Puerto Rico in hardwood hammocks, juniper and old citrus trees on smaller branches and twigs at elevations of sealevel to 700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, leafless, cool to warm growing epiphyte with a few chloryphyllous, silver grey roots radiating from a central short stem, from which arises in the late summer and early fall a short to 3/4" to 2" [2 to 5 cm] long, 1 to 6 flowered, fractiflex inflorescence with scarious, lanceolate floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers
