Common Name The Heart-Shaped Leaf Hemipilia - In China Xin Ye She Hui Lan
Flower Size .4 to .5" [1 to 1.2 cm]
Found in China, Taiwan, western Himalayas, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar in open hillside in damp hollows around rocks among scrub at elevations of 2500 to 2900 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a cylindrical to ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect stem with lanceolate, acuminate sheaths and carrying broadly ovate-cordate, acute, narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the summer on a secund, glabrous, laxly to subdensely, 2 to 5" [5 to 12.5 cm] long, 8 to many flowered inflorescence with ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
