Common Name Handel's Herminium - In China - Gao Shan Lan

Found in Bhutan, India, Sikkim, southeastern Xizang & Yunnan provinces of China in damp alpine meadows at elevations of 4200 to 4300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with subglobose tubers giving rise to an erect stem provided with 1 to 3, basal, tubular sheaths and carrying 2, subopposite, elliptic, elliptic-lanceolate to obovate, acute to obtuse leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect peducle ridged, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence with triangular, extremely small floral bracts.
