Found in the eastern Himalayas, Nepal and the western Himalayas at elevations of 2000 to 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 oblong elliptic leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, erect, 4.8 to 6" [12 to 15 cm] long, rather densely many flowered inflorescence with broadly lanceolate, acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts aand carrying greenish flowers
