Found in Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Congo and Zaire in riverine forests as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 3 to 8, all along the stem, ovate, acute to acuminate, petiolate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, 16" [40 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
